1937: Costing $53,000 and built at the corner of Franklin and Carolina streets, the new building at the time served as both a post office and agricultural center for Hartwell. The building’s funds were secured through Congressman Paul Brown of the 10th District of Georgia.

Students awarded REACH scholarships

A handful of Hart County eighth graders signed a contract to receive a large scholarship when they graduate in four years. Five middle schoolers joined the REACH (Realizing Educational Achievement Can Happen) Georgia program during a ceremony at Hart County High School on Wednesday, Nov. 10.
