Church of Christ welcomes new preacher

On January 2, 2022, the Hartwell Church of Christ will have a new preacher in the pulpit. Since 2008, Aubrey Prestridge has faithfully served in that position but announced earlier this year his plan to retire at the end of the year.

Hart faith leaders talk true meaning of Christmas

Christmas Day will be celebrated by the people of Hartwell along with billions of other Christians across the globe, and three Hart County ministers chose to remind Christians in the area why it is important to observe and remember the reason behind Christmas Day.

Dec. 21 marks 100 years of women voting in Hart Co.

December 21, 2021, marked the 100th anniversary of the women in Hart County voting for the first time. Kathryn Pfaender, secretary for the Hart County Historical Society, was instrumental in memorializing the first female voters here.

Man arrested in Hartwell after alleged home invasions

On Tuesday morning, Dec. 21, Hart County law enforcement apprehended a Texas man who is accused of two alleged home invasions in Anderson, SC. Jeffrey Mixson of Wichita Falls, Texas was arrested in an alleged stolen vehicle on Reed Creek Road by the Hart County’s sheriff’s department.
