Golf team competes in area tournament

The Hart County High School boys golf team came up short of making the state tournament in Augusta. The team ended the regular season with nine wins and only two losses to Elbert  County and Habersham County.

Boys track takes gold at region

The Hart County boys track team took the gold in the region championship meet last week. The boys team finished first with a score of 187 and the girls team placed fourth overall with a score of 108.

Former Bulldog makes NFL

Hart County High School alum Anthony Turner has signed to continue his football career in the NFL. Turner, who graduated from Hart County in 2016, signed on to the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent and will be going to the rookie mini-camp on Thursday.

Baseball Season ends in Ringgold: Diamond Dogs fall in first round of state playoffs

The Hart County baseball team’s season ended at Ringgold High School after losing two  games on Friday night. The Diamond Dogs traveled to northwest Georgia to face off against the Ringgold Tigers in the first series of the state playoffs on April 29. The Dogs started off the night with a loss.

Team Connie Mack Bowers retains Spelling Bee Crown

Six teams representing various organizations on April 28 learned about the words and the bees. The Nancy Hart Literacy Council (NHLC) brought together six competitive teams to help raise support for the Hart County Adult Learning Center in its 20th annual Hart County Spelling Bee.

Candidates for District 33 voice platforms

Candidates for the District 33 seat in the Georgia House of Representatives spoke Saturday at a forum at Franklin Springs City Hall. Incumbent Alan Powell and challenger Dylan Purcell spoke at the forum sponsored by the Franklin County Republican Party.

Property Owners host state rep

Submitted info: Hart County Property Owners Association hosted Alan Powell, state representative, as the featured  speaker at the April meeting.  Powell recounted the significant events and issues from the recently completed legislative session.
