Hart County set for Memorial Day

This Memorial Day, May 30, the Hartwell American Legion Post 109 will hold a Memorial Day Service at the Veteran’s Memorial Park on the courthouse square to remember Hart County’s fallen heroes. The service will be held at 11 a.m.

Boating accident results in death of 17-year-old

On Sunday, May 22 the Hart County Sheriff’s Office and the Georgia Department of Natural Resources responded to an accident on Lake Hartwell involving two boats. The crash resulted in the death of Eric Beasley, 17 of Canton, Georgia.

Hart Co. spring football practices underway

The 2022 Hart County High School football team is two weeks deep into its spring practices and will be capping off the spring with a scrimmage against Habersham Central High School on Friday.

The Hart County boys track and field team placed second in the 3A state championship, the highest finish in Hart County history. The Hart County boys team finished second with 78 points, only 11 points behind the champion, Westminster at the meet on May 12 in Carrolton. “It was an epic weekend.
