I have been in attendance for or participated in the Hartwell Christmas Parade for the last 15 years or so, and while I have been away at school, I have made it a point to make the drive home to take in the sights and sounds of the parade.

Preservation Commission wraps up architectural survey

The Hartwell Preservation Commission (HPC), in association with the City of Hartwell and the Georgia Mountains Regional Commission, received an updated version of the Historic Resources Survey Report in October of this year. This report was prepared for the City of Hartwell by Volkert, Inc.

City adjusts 2022 budget

The Hartwell City Council discussed budget amendments and plans for 2023 at a called meeting on Monday, Dec. 19, with city infrastructure a central focus. “We’ve got 11 budget adjustments,” city manager Jon Herschell said.

Man accused of raping minor out on conditional bail

Santos Perez-Bartolon, 47, a man charged with the rape of a minor, posted bail with “certain conditions” via property bond for $75,000. Hart County Superior Court judge Jeffrey S. Malcom set Perez-Bartolon’s bond on Dec. 12, which he posted two days later on Dec.

Dogs basketball teams on 2 different streaks

Hart County hit the road this past weekend, taking on Morgan County on Friday, Madison County on Saturday, and Daniel on Monday. On Friday, Dec. 9, Hart County began its long weekend with a trip to Morgan County to play in the battle of the Bulldogs.
