Theatre receives $300,000 ARC grant

Submitted by Jason Ford  City of Hartwell  The Hartwell Downtown Development Authority, in partnership with the Hartwell Main Street Program, announces the award of a $300,000 grant from the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) to support the Hart County Community Theatre Improvements Project.

Georgia College and State University • Aubrey Alewine, of Hartwell, was named to the fall 2025 President's List for the College of Health Sciences at Georgia College and State University. To earn distinction on the President's List, undergraduate students must earn a 4.

School system celebrates CTAE accomplishments

'The Diary of Anne Frank' opens Friday

Royston, Lavonia residents arrested in SCHS shooting

By Michael O'Hearn  The Toccoa Record Four individuals have been arrested following a firearm incident on Feb. 10 at Stephens County High School. While two sporting events were ongoing at the school, students reported a firearm had been discharged multiple times in the parking lot.
