Lady Dogs split against Washington-Wilkes and Stephens

The Lady Dogs soccer team dominated Washington-Wilkes, 8-1, but dropped their second region game to Stephens County, 6-3. The Lady Dogs have to win two of the remaining three region games to make the state playoffs for the first time in program history.

Dogs pickup first region win

The Dogs won back-to-back games against Washington-Wilkes,7-0 and in double overtime against Stephens County, 3-2. The Dogs picked up a huge 7-0 win over Washington-Wilkes as multiple Dogs had contributions in the game.

Racket Dogs fall to Hebron

After getting rained out on March 9, the Racket Dogs returned to a dry court and fell to Hebron Christian at home on Tuesday. For the boys, they were able to win one line but dropped the other four as first singles, Daniel Leard, won in two sets 6-4 and 6-3.

Slow-Pitch continues to dominate with wins over Johnson of Gainesville

The slow-pitch softball team run-ruled the Knights of Johnson (Gainesville) in both games at home on March 8. The Lady Dogs have had great success against teams from Gainesville in both fast-pitch and slow pitch.

Diamond Dogs back to its winning ways

The Diamond Dogs go 2-2 in a four game stretch, picking up their first win of the season and the first region win as well. On March 9, Hart traveled to Crescent High School in South Carolina and beat the Tigers, 3-2. “We played very well,” said Diamond Dogs head coach Hunter Barton.

Track teams stack the podium in trips to Elbert and Rabun

The Hart County track team collected multiple first place and top five finishers at the Elbert County home meet and at the Bo James Invitational in Rabun County. On March 9, the teams traveled to Elberton for the Elbert County home meet and both teams were successful in multiple events.

Seven year old wins Georgia State Wrestling Championship

Hartwell native, Knox Payne, is now a Georgia Wrestling State Champion, after winning it all in Perry, Ga., on March 5. Payne is in just his second year of wrestling and competed last year in the state competition in the 6U division, but was quickly eliminated after losing both matches.

Diamond Dogs could not find a way to end the losing streak

The Diamond Dogs dropped both games at home against Stony Brook of New York and Prince Avenue Christian. The Dogs were looking to turn things around in the month of March and get back to their winning ways, but Stony Brook continued the Dogs losing streak and got the 10-0 win on the road.
