Campbell learning “hard work pays off” in softball and in life

Former Lady Dog and current Morehead State University outfielder, Taikibrea Campbell, is finding success through the struggle of being a college athlete. Just a year ago, Campbell committed to play college softball for the Eagles. Now she is a normal starter in the outfield.

Diamond Dogs split with Hebron and fall to Jefferson

The Diamond Dogs split the double-header against Hebron Christian at home and fell on the road against Jefferson. Senior pitcher Reese Maxwell got the nod to start in game one versus Hebron Christian at home on March 30.

Girls end their season on a high note while boys make the playoffs

The Hart County Soccer Dogs wrapped up the regular season sweeping Athens Christian on senior night, spliting against Elbert, and the boys beat Monsignor Donovan on the road.

Racket Dogs wrap up regular season play

The Racket Dogs fell to Franklin on the road, but split games at home, as the girls picked up the 3-2 win. Hart then honored their nine seniors against Washington-Wilkes on Tuesday, as the boys won 3-2, while the girls fell 2-3.

Errors define losses to Lions

The Diamond Dogs were swept by the Lions of Franklin County and also lost to Hebron Christian, 5-4. After the Dogs lost game one at home on March 21, Hart made the trip to Carnesville in hopes to get back in the win column in a double-header versus Franklin County.

Softball splits with Franklin

The Lady Dogs wrapped up regular season play on the road against Franklin County, splitting the double-header with the Lady Lions on March 22. Hart was able to get the bats going in the 8-3 game one win. In game two, it was the complete opposite, as Franklin shut out Hart, 4-0.

The Soccer Dogs couldn’t find the win column this past week, as they fell to both Hebron Christian on the road and to Elbert County at home.

Even though the Lady Dogs were eliminated from the state playoffs with the road loss to Hebron Christian, they looked to finish the season strong starting with a big home win over rival Elbert County.

Trujillo commits to Piedmont

Hart County senior competition cheerleader, Sofia Trujillo, commits to Piedmont University to continue her academic and cheer career. Piedmont was first to announce the commitment in a social media post stating. “Starting the week off on a good note with another commitment!” the post read.

Sights and scenes from opening day

Even with the increase of teams and players from a year ago, the Hart County Little League opening day was nothing but a grand slam, as they opened their season on Saturday. One of the many beloved times of the year in Hart County is when the little league opens its season off in the spring.
