Hoop teams fall in Rabun Gap

Both the Hart County boys and girls basketball teams traveled to Rabun Gap on Thursday, Dec. 9 to rematch Rabun Gap-Nacoochee. The Lady Dogs lost their rematch against the Eagles, 57-30. Hart kept the score within reach in the first half, trailing 32-23 at half time.

Lady Dogs fall to Devils

The Hart County High School girls hoops team came up short against Elbert County on Friday, Dec. 3. The Lady Dogs got behind early when the Devils scored seven unanswered points. Hart responded with six unanswered points of their own and ended the first period tied at nine each.

Devils Come down to Hartwell: Dogs decimate Elbert Co. at home

The Hart County High School boys basketball team easily handled the Elbert County team at home on Friday, Dec. 3. Hart started with 12 unanswered points against the Devils and finished the first quarter leading 24-3.

Lady Dogs split games

The Hart County girls basketball team went 2-2 in a busy week on the road. After beating Walnut Grove in a high scoring game the day before, the Lady Dogs fell to private school Tallulah Falls at Clarke Central High School  on Tuesday, Nov. 23.

Hoop Dogs 2-2 on road: Mixed results for Hart away from home

The Hart County boys basketball team split games on a tough road schedule this past week. The Dogs started with a win against private school First Presbyterian Day on Tuesday, Nov. 23 at Clarke Central High School. The Dogs won 67-60.

Wrestlers start season in Watkinsville

The Hart County wrestling team kicked off its season with the Warrior Dual meet at Oconee County High School on Saturday, Nov. 20. The Mat Dogs finished their first meet with a winning record after winning three and losing two.

Lady Dogs to rely on young talent in 2021-22 season

The Hart County girls basketball team will be relying on a young core this season. Coach Mike Edwards said  there are only three seniors and one junior on the team this year. Taniya “Nesha” Alexander, last year’s star center, graduated and signed to play basketball with Clark-Atlanta University.

Hoop Season is here: Hart drops first two games of campaign

The Hart County Boys Basketball team kicked off their season last week with a loss to Rabun Gap-Nacoochee before travelling to Athens for the Andy Landers Classic this week.

Tough early schedule for Hart hoops team with state title hopes

After making the Final Four last year, the Hart County boys basketball team is looking to go deep into the post-season again this year. However, this year’s team will rely on a few great players, while last year’s team leaned on a plethora of seniors.

Hart loses first round of state playoffs

It was a long drive home from Ringgold after the Bulldogs lost their first playoff game to Ringgold High School. The Hart County football team finished its 2021 season 7-3 after losing 30-21 to the now 10-1 Ringgold Tigers on Friday, Nov. 12.
