Tennis teams win against Monroe

The Hart County tennis teams had a good week, with the girls team winning three of their match-ups. On Friday, March 25, Hart hosted Monroe Area. The boys team won, 4-1. No. 1 singles Daniel Leard  won, 6-1, 6-0. No. 2 and 3 single Jackson Daniel and Zander Horne won by forfeit. The no.

Boys golf remains undefeated

The Hart County boys golf team continues it’s up beaten streak with wins over Oconee County, White County and East Jackson. On Thursday, March 24, Hart defeated Oconee County at Cateechee, 173-205, in their lowest score of the season. Junior Payne Oglesby had the low score of the match with a 38.

Diamond Dogs sweep East Jackson Eagles

The Hart County Diamond Dogs finished the sweep of East Jackson with doubleheader wins last Friday. The baseball team traveled to Commerce to face the Eagles twice on Friday, March 25. Hart won the first game 3-2, needing a run in an extra inning to win. Paul Davis led the team in hits with two.

Soccer Dogs clinch playoff spot: Bulldogs defeat region rivals Franklin Co.

The Hart County boys soccer team beat Franklin County to punch their ticket to the state playoffs for only the third time in program history. Coach Benjamin Hudson said this year’s match up with their rivals from Franklin County carried a lot of emotion after losing to them last season, 6-1.

Track Dogs compete in Athens

The Hart County High School track and field teams finished well in the Loch Johnson Invitational 2022 this past weekend. The boys team finished second overall out of 20 teams at the meet in Athens on March 19. The girls placed seventh among 16 other teams.

Boys golf stays undefeated

The Hart County High School boys golf team remained unbeaten after winning over White County, while the girls team lost to the Warriors. Last week, Hart County hosted Elbert County. The Dogs prevailed in a close match with the Blue Devils, 178-180.

Soccer Dogs win on the road

Both soccer teams secured wins in Athens on Tuesday, March 23. The Soccer Dogs traveled to Athens to play the Athens Christian Eagles. The boys team won, 4-2. Senior Tyler Trujillo scored two goals. Sophomore Axsel Farjardo and freshman Chaston Lewis each scored one goal.

Baseball loses on the road

The Diamond Dogs got back on the field Tuesday night after rain soaked-fields postponed games last week. After three games were called off because of weather, Hart traveled to Monroe Area High School on Tuesday, March 15 and lost 6-5.

Track teams take gold

Both track and field teams took first at the Stephens County Home Meet 2022. On Tuesday, March 15, the Bulldogs traveled to Stephens County to compete against Stephens, Morgan County and Franklin County. Madison McClane took the gold in the girls high jump with a 4-10 in the finals.
