Shooting hospitalizes one, puts schools on lockdown

A shooting on Friday in Hartwell left one man recovering in the hospital and one behind bars. According to Lieutenant Sherrod Blackwell of the Hartwell Police Department, the police received a call about the shooting around 9:16 a.m. that day. The caller stated there had been a drive-by shooting.

Hart County voters head to the polls Nov. 5

The Hart County Board of Elections and Registration will hold a general election on November 5, 2024. At the top of the ballot is the presidential contest between Democrat Vice-President Kamala Harris against Republican former President Donald Trump along with a slew of lesser party candidates.

ATLANTA - More than 137,000 Georgia high school seniors will receive a personalized direct college admissions letter this month, as the GEORGIA MATCH program begins its second year. Each letter will list the public colleges and universities in Georgia that are holding a spot for the recipient.

Hartwell man dies after car crash Friday

After a serious one-vehicle crash last Friday, Oct. 4, a Hartwell man succumbed to his critical injuries. According to a Georgia State Patrol report, at approximately 1:15 p.m., GSP from Post 52 - Hartwell responded to the crash with reports of series injuries.
