Latin Flavors moves in to Chicago Steakhouse location

The new restaurant coming to the former location of Chicago Steakhouse, will be unlike anything Hartwell has seen in recent years. The restaurant, Latin Flavors, will be the second location of a concept created by owner Daniel Diaz, first in Winder.

Alleged threats at Wendy’s lead to high speed chase

An argument at Wendy’s resulted in a police chase through town and a wrecked vehicle. At approximately 5:41 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 16, Hartwell police responded to a report of a man locking himself in a room to avoid another man allegedly identified as Tyler Avant Carter, 17.

Teen survives race day wreck: Dad: ‘She was ready to get back in the car that night’

A scary accident at Lavonia Speedway involving a 16-year-old on Saturday, Feb. 19 thankfully ended without major injuries or tragedy. Kaylee Worley, 16, from Gaffney, SC was on the checkered flag lap when she passed out due to a medical issue, according to her father Seth Worley.

Low Country Boil set for takeout Feb. 25

It’s that time again. The Tony Hilton Imagination Library Low Country Boil will be held Feb. 25 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Ag Center on Bowman Highway. The boil is takeout only due to COVID precautions.
