Hartwell Makers Festival set for spring edition

The Hartwell Makers Festival (HMF) is coming back April 9, to showcase the best art and craftsmanship that Hart County and the surrounding region has to offer. The spring market will have over 40 different local makers exhibiting items ranging from food, furniture, art work and more.

Doula at Hart opens Hartwell office

Doula at Hart celebrated the opening of its physical location with a ribbon cutting on March 29. The agency for birth and postpartum support launched last year and moved into its space at 236 W. Franklin St. in Hartwell in January, 2022.

Man preserves historic graves at New Harmony Methodist

Hart County is a land that is steeped in history. County resident Buck Chapman wants to preserve that history by capturing it at New Harmony Methodist Church so others can see it too.

Hart Co. students win competition for young authors

The Hart County Charter System is proud to announce that two system-wide Young Georgia Author contest winners have been selected as Pioneer RESA Region winners for the contest and will be moving on to the state competition.

Hart County Botanical unveils conifer walk

Some 60 people were in attendance on Sunday, March 27 for the introduction of the newest attraction at the Hart County Botanical Garden.

Commissioner, son out on $30,000 bond

Hart County commissioner Ricky Carter and his son Jake Carter were each granted bond at $30,000 on March 24 in a case in which they’re accused of assault, battery and cruelty to children among other charges.

Botanical Garden hosts religious education class

Teens from the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church Religious Education Class, Hartwell, recently spent a morning working in the Hart County Botanical Garden. They cleared brush and learned about invasive plants. (Front L-R) Joanna Nguyen, Jamie Orbe and Catherine Nguyen.
