Election season to conclude November 5

The Hart County Board of Elections and Registration will hold a general election on November 5, 2024. At the top of the ballot is the presidential contest between Democrat Vice-President Kamala Harris against Republican former President Donald Trump along with a slew of lesser party candidates.
A three-car accident on Bowersville Hwy. Tuesday afternoon shut down traffic in both directions coming in and out of Hartwell, and sent one victim to the hospital.

Woman airlifted after crash with cement truck

At approximately 3:40 p.m. on Oct. 29, one woman with serious injuries was airlifted after a severe three-vehicle crash that shut down traffic flow. The collision occurred around Sundown Circle on Georgia 51.

‘Record-breaking’ early voting turnout in Hart

With less than a week until early voting ends, data from the Secretary of State’s Office shows that early voting numbers in Hart are the highest they’ve been in years. This follows the larger trend of early voter turnout in Georgia reaching record highs: as of Oct.

Volley Dogs exit playoffs after loss to East Jackson

After sweeping Pierce County on their home court, the Volley Dogs fall in the Sweet Sixteen to East Jackson to end their season. On Oct. 16, Hart traveled down to Blackshear to take on the Lady Bears of Pierce County in the first round of the state playoffs.
