DOGS CROWNED CHAMPIONS OF McDONALD’S SHOOTOUT

The Dogs captured their first McDonald’s Shootout Championship since 2022, while going 1-1 outside of the tournament. On Dec. 23, Hart hosted the Patriots of Oglethorpe County. Oglethorpe came out and punched the Dogs in the mouth and took a 17-9 lead at the end of the first quarter.

My daddy wouldn’t like today’s country music. Well, he’d like some of it, mainly the songs that sound country and with words a man could understand. I recorded the Country Music Awards program on TV several weeks ago, but Daddy wouldn’t have cared for much of it.

In the Nov. 4, 1976 edition of The Hartwell Sun, editor Bill Bridges penned the editorial titled, “Jimmy Who,” which commented on the election of the 39th President of the United States, Jimmy Carter.
Brenda and Terry Price said it was a bittersweet goodbye when they closed Saturday night for the last time. “We’ve been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support from their many long-time customers.” The legendary business is still listed for sale, and the owners will help train anyone who buys it.

Booty’s Fish House, seeking new owner, closes after 70 years

ROYSTON – A Royston restaurant fixture for the past 70 years closed its doors Saturday, possibly for the last time. But there is hope that Booty’s Fish House will survive. “It’s still listed for sale on a couple of sites,” co-owners Terry and Brenda Price said.
