Twisters dominate regionals

Last week, the Hartwell Twisters gymnastics team blew through regionals in Pigeon Forge, Tenn.

Johnson commits to Gulf Coast State College

Senior forward Tahj Johnson commited to Gulf Coast State College after his visit on Monday. The Hartwell Sun sat down with Johnson on Tuesday to discuss why he committed to Gulf Coast State and what the staff said or did to persuade him to come to their school.

HARTWELL, GA - The 2023 FCA Georgia versus South Carolina Baseball Classic presented by Chick-fil-A Lavonia will be on June 1 at Tommy Carey Field at Emmanuel College.

Senior competition cheerleader wins 2023 Northeast Georgia Positive Athlete Award for cheer. On April 28, Hart County senior Kylie Seawright was tagged in a post by her mom. That was the day that she found out she had received this year’s Northeast Georgia Positive Athlete Award for cheer.

Spring football report - Week 1

Week one of Hart County football’s spring practice is under way, and the Dogs are getting back to the fundamentals. The defense could be a bright spot. This past week, players started out May 4 in just helmets and shorts and then added shoulder pads on May 5.

Virginia men arrested after shooting incident on I-85

A pair of Virginia men were arrested in Hart County Tuesday afternoon following a BOLO alert from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office for an apparent road rage shooting incident that occurred on I-85 in South Carolina.

Hartwell Art Center holds opening for ‘Awakenings’

Art lovers gathered May 5 at the Hartwell Art Center for the opening reception of the gallery’s newest exhibit Awakenings. As part of the art center’s 2023 exhibit season, Awakenings has drawn a diverse range of artists from around the area.
