Racket Dogs still searching for first win

The Hart County boys and girls tennis teams start the season 0-3 as they look for their first win in their first non-region match on Feb. 23. The Racket Dogs traveled to Toccoa to take to the Indians of Stephens County on Feb. 15.

Eleven years ago I was about to enter my freshman year of high school. I don’t feel old but saying that sure does make me feel old. I spent my summers saving up for one video game before going back to school — EA Sports College Football.

Mat Dogs end season with one state placer

After sending five Mat Dogs to state, junior Harrison Krause walked away as the lone state placer for Hart County. Hart traveled down to Macon to compete in the state tournament on Feb. 15-17.

Phillips commits to High Point University

Lady Dogs senior guard Dakota Phillips verbally commits to High Point University to continue her athletic and academic career. There is a saying that goes, “The third times a charm.

The National Champions will fish on the national stage

Local National Champions will look to compete at the highest level this spring. Kale Temple and Luke Schnell reeled in the Bassmaster Junior National Championship on Lake Hartwell back in July of last year. Last week, they received a letter in the mail with some exciting news.

Diamond Dogs start season with a flawless record

The Diamond Dogs are off to one of the best starts in school history, as they are undefeated to start the year. Hart hosted Madison County for a double header on Feb. 16 from Saye Field.

Dogs flip script to win back-to-back games

After starting the season with back-to-back losses, the Dogs have flipped the script with back-to-back wins. Hart hosted the Hurricanes of Jasper County in Herndon Stadium on Feb.

Lady Dogs start 4-0 for the first time in school history

The Lady Dogs remain undefeated with wins over Jasper County and Washington Wilkes, as they are off to their best start in program history. Hart hosted the Lady Hurricanes of Jasper County on Feb. 16 inside Herndon Stadium.

Lady Dogs advance to sweet sixteen with win over Douglas

After finishing as the No. 3 seed in the region tournament, the Lady Dogs defeated Frederick Douglass High School in the first round of the state playoffs to advance to the sweet sixteen. The Lady Dogs traveled to Toccoa on Feb. 14 to take on the Lady Warriors of Oconee County.
The Hart County High School boys basketball team pulled off the upset over No. 2 ranked Hebron Christian to capture the 2023-2024 Region 8-AAA Championship on Feb. 16, 59-53.

DOGS CROWNED REGION CHAMPIONS

With wins over Monroe Area and Hebron Christian in the region tournament, the Dogs captured their first region title under second year head coach Matt Gibbs. Hart traveled to Stephens County to take on the Purple Hurricanes of Monroe Area in the first round of the region tournament on Feb. 14.
