It’s happened. My last-born found out the truth about good, old St. Nick. It did not go well. I’ll cut to the end and just tell you that I’m the biggest liar ever to live; that’s the primary takeaway. It was just over a year ago now, but this time of year, obviously, brings it flooding back.

Animal shelter closed for ‘updates’

LAVONIA – The Northeast Georgia Animal Shelter will be closed for the first half of December to make state-mandated changes to its facilities. The closure came after the Georgia Department of Agriculture’s most recent inspection in November.

On Nov. 15, Rev. Gregory K. Hearn was inaugurated as Emmanuel University’s tenth president during a campus ceremony in the John W. Swails Center. Hearn, an alumnus of Emmanuel, has served the University for 13 years and has a forward-thinking vision for its future.

Holiday Bazaar to take place Saturday

The annual Hart Life Holiday Bazaar is slated to take place this Saturday, Dec. 7 at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Hartwell. This year, the Bazaar will showcase over 50 artists, crafters and designers.
