Voting opportunities remain open

With just a little over one week of early voting underway, 337 total voters had cast ballots in the two upcoming elections as of 5 p.m. Tuesday, according to the Hart County Board of Elections and Registration.

Board of Education to roll back millage rate

The Hart County Board of Education (BOE) is expected to roll its millage rate back during a called meeting Oct. 31.  A five-year levy history, along with the proposed 9.310 millage rate can be found on page 5A of today’s edition of The Hartwell Sun.  The proposed rate is expected to levy over $17.

Board of Education named ‘Exemplary Board’

The Hart County Board of Education has once again been named an “Exemplary Board” by the Georgia School Boards Association (GBSA). Superintendent Jennifer Carter made the announcement during the board’s meeting Monday.
