Be wary of TB in deer

Earlier this month and in the thick of deer season, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention warned that deer “can transmit certain strains of tuberculosis to hunters.” The danger comes during the field-dressing process.

Just because you can’t see or feel something, doesn’t mean it’s not there and Elizabeth Harper learned this first-hand when she was diagnosed with breast cancer last December at age 59. “When they found my cancer, it was very small and in the beginning stages,” Harper said.

Murder suspect shot by police in Toccoa

By J. Todd Truelove The Toccoa Record A 49-year-old Toccoa man charged with murder was caught Tuesday after he was shot by a Toccoa Police officer. The suspect, Kenton Deshawn Hall, was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center for treatment, according Toccoa police chief Jimmy Mize.

They’ll be flying over the water and the water will be flying. The Pro Watercross Tour will return to Tugaloo State Park near Lavonia July 27-28. The Pro Watercross Tour stages personal watercraft lap races all over the country – from Florida to Texas to Wisconsin to Georgia – each summer.

When taking the boat out on the lake, people typically spend their time relaxing, grilling or swimming in the water. At Clayton First United Methodist Church, people drive their boats to boat church. Christ’s ministry in the mountains found its way to Lake Rabun in the early 1970s by the Rev.
