My corn bread ain’t always done in the middle

For the past several years I have taken early morning walks along the paved path at a meandering park at a municipality not too far from here.  The park resides in and is owned and well maintained by that municipality. Based on a sign at its entrance the park’s hours of operation are from 5 a.m.

Seems to me taking the personalities out of the presidential race would be a good thing. I’ve always thought all party platforms should be mailed out to every citizen registered to vote and publicly published one month prior to an election.

Confession good for the soul, even for newspaper editors

Newspaper reporters and editors are just ordinary people who want to get it right. In a recent column about Mordecai Wilson, a 99-year-old resident of tiny Lula, Ga., I reported that he and his wife, Mary, set up two special homes when they lived in Boston.
