Volley Dog’s Class of 2024 picks up their 100th win

The Volley Dogs senior class picked up their 100th win on senior night against Westside of Anderson, S.C. in four sets, 3-1. Hart hosted the Lady Rams of Westside in a best of five match for senior night.

Boys Cross Country places 12th at Mountain Invitational

The Hart County boys and girls cross country teams traveled to Helen to compete in the 2023 Mountain Invitational Sept. 28, where the boys placed 12th overall.

Dogs looks to end Warriors three game win streak over Hart

After picking up their first region win over Franklin, Hart returns home to face the Warriors of Oconee County. These two teams have played off and on since its first meeting in 1980. Hart won the first meeting against the Warriors in 1980 in a close 20-14 win in Herndon Stadium.

The Georgia High School Association [GHSA] passed that all schools in A, AA, and AAA will compete in a public and private school championship at the season’s end. The GHSA state executive committee held its annual fall meeting Oct. 2 in Macon.

Softball ends regular season winless in region play

The Lady Dogs dropped the final three regular season games at home against Stephens County, Hebron Christian, and Oconee County to go winless in region play. Hart started off the homestand taking on the Lady Indians of Stephens County on senior night Sept. 28.

GHSA approves NIL for high school athletes

The Georgia High School Association unanimously votes to allow high school athletes within the state of Georgia to make money off of their name, image, and likeness (NIL). The GHSA state executive committee held its annual fall meeting Oct. 2 in Macon.

Volley Dogs win in a thriller against North Oconee

After winning the first two sets, the Volley Dogs lost the third set. Hart was able to rally back and capture the win in the fourth set over the Lady Titans of North Oconee. Hart hosted North Oconee in the Dog Pound Sept. 28 in a best of five set match.

Senior running back Nori Moore’s five rushing touchdowns propels the Dogs to start region play with a 40-14 win over Franklin County. Hart County made the 20 mile drive from Hartwell to Carnesville to take on the Lions of Franklin County. The Lions won the toss and deferred to the second half.

Lady Dogs in “do or die” situation without a region win

The Lady Dogs continue to search for their first region win after dropping games on the road to Monroe Area and Franklin County. Hart made the lengthy trip to Monroe Area Sept. 21 to take on the Lady Purple Hurricanes. Monroe Area got off to a strong start leading 4-0 at the end of the second.

Volley Dogs end road trip 3-1

The Volley Dogs end their final two road trips with wins over Chestatee, Stephens County, and Commerce, and their lone loss coming against Jefferson. Hart traveled to Jefferson High School to take on the Lady Dragons and the Lady War Eagles of Chestatee Sept. 21.
