Lady Dogs start 4-0 for the first time in school history

The Lady Dogs remain undefeated with wins over Jasper County and Washington Wilkes, as they are off to their best start in program history. Hart hosted the Lady Hurricanes of Jasper County on Feb. 16 inside Herndon Stadium.

Lady Dogs advance to sweet sixteen with win over Douglas

After finishing as the No. 3 seed in the region tournament, the Lady Dogs defeated Frederick Douglass High School in the first round of the state playoffs to advance to the sweet sixteen. The Lady Dogs traveled to Toccoa on Feb. 14 to take on the Lady Warriors of Oconee County.

DOGS CROWNED REGION CHAMPIONS

With wins over Monroe Area and Hebron Christian in the region tournament, the Dogs captured their first region title under second year head coach Matt Gibbs. Hart traveled to Stephens County to take on the Purple Hurricanes of Monroe Area in the first round of the region tournament on Feb. 14.

As a sports junkie, I will freely admit there are some weekdays where it’s hard to get your work done. March Madness, the opening rounds of The Masters, and the Olympics are all events that I’ll need a television and a computer on hand to keep up with the coverage despite having a full time job.

Racket Dogs fall in season opener

The Hart County High School boys and girls tennis teams open up the season 0-1 after dropping all sets to a tough Oconee County team. The Racket Dogs opened up their 2024 campaign on the road as they traveled to Watkinsville on Feb. 7 to take on the Warriors of Oconee County.

Five Lady Dogs earn All-Region honors

Two seniors make the All-Region team, one senior and one junior were named as honorable mentions, and senior guard Dakota Phillips was tabbed as the Co-Player of the Year for Region 8-AAA.

Dogs start 0-2 for the first time since 2017

After back-to-back losses to start the season, the Dogs will look to get back on track at home against Jasper County on Feb. 16. Hart opened up the season with a trip to the Granite Bowl to take on rival Elbert County on Feb. 9.

Three Dogs tabbed for All-Region honors

One senior represented the Dogs by making the All-Region team, while a junior and a freshman were named honorable mentions. Senior forward Avery Strickland collects his first All-Region team selection in his final season with the Dogs.

With a win over Monroe Area in the first round of the region tournament, the Lady Dogs look to host the first round of the state playoffs with a win over Oconee County. Before the Lady Dogs entered the region tournament, they traveled to Carnesville on Feb.
