Despite trailing early, the Diamond Dogs claw their way back and walk it off to win the season opener against Banks County.  On Feb. 9, Hart opened the 2026 season against the Leopards of Banks County.

Lady Dogs take care of region rivals to clinch the No. 2 seed in Region 8-AA

The Lady Dogs restart their win streak after back-to-back wins against region rivals.  On Feb. 6, Hart traveled to Carnesville to take on the Lady Lions of Franklin County. It was neck-and-neck at the end of the first quarter of play, as the Lady Dogs had the 12-11 lead.

This week’s Athlete of the Week, presented by Johnson Heating & Air, goes to the Diamond Dogs’ senior outfielder Cooper Green. Despite Hart being down early, 6-2,  in the season opener to Banks County Feb. 9, the Diamond Dogs never gave up.

The Dogs start the season undefeated and undefeated in region play.  On Feb. 5, Hart opened up the season on the road against the Purple Hurricanes of Monroe Area. The Dogs won at No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 singles, as well as No. 2 doubles with the lone loss coming at No.

The Dogs started the season strong with a road, shutout win over Oglethorpe County. On Feb. 10, Hart traveled to Lexington to take on the Patriots of Oglethorpe County. The Dogs opened up the scoring midway through the first half of play, as Cayson Craft scored to make it 1-0.

Lady Dogs score five goals in season opening shutout win

The Lady Dogs start the season with a shutout win on the road in Lexington.  On Feb. 10, Hart traveled to Lexington to take on the Lady Patriots of Oglethorpe County. Within the first five minutes of play, the Lady Dogs struck first, as Isla Bell scored to give Hart a 1-0 lead.

Hart County football reveals 2026 schedule

The Hart County Bulldogs will face four new teams in the regular season and renew region rivalries in the newly formed Region 8-AAA. On Jan. 20, Hart County High School announced its 2026 football schedule.
