Health officials urging flu vaccination amid 'widespread' infections

ATLANTA — Hospitalizations for flu spiked in the last full week of December, resulting in several deaths in Georgia and an urgent call by state health officials. The Department of Public Health on Monday urged people to get vaccinated amid projections of more infections.

Animal shelter shows off new adoption building

By Shane Scoggins Franklin County Citizen Leader and Rose Scoggins  Editor/Publisher LAVONIA – The Northeast Georgia Animal Shelter  (NEGAS) showed off its new adoption center Thursday to officials from the governments it serves.
