Georgia Power awarded $160 million to enhance Georgia’s power grid

ATLANTA– Georgia Power, the state’s largest electric utility serving 2.7 million customers, has been awarded more than $160 million in funding by the Department of Energy (DOE) through its Grid Deployment Office.

Purina presented a $25,000 grant to Greater Good Charities to support relief efforts from Hurricane Helene.

ATLANTA - The Georgia Supreme Court Tuesday denied an expedited appeal of a Fulton County Superior Court ruling that invalidated a series of election law changes approved by the Republican-controlled State Election Board.

Teenager arrested in connection to Elberton shooting

A teenager has been arrested in connection to the Elberton shooting that left 15-year-old Hart Academy student Bry’Shun Jordan dead and seven other people injured. Anderson County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jarquavious Demetriun Scott, 18, of Anderson County on Friday, Oct. 18.

15-year-old Bry’Shun Jordan, a Hart Academy student, was killed and seven others injured in a shooting this weekend outside the Seven Grands Community Center on Evergreen Drive in Elberton.

Stephens County Hospital was recently designated a Remote Treatment Stroke Center by the Georgia Department of Public Health’s Office of EMS and Trauma.
