Genie Chappelear

Genie Richardson Chappelear, age 88, of 1395 Moore Road, Hartwell, Ga., went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 16, 2020 at her home.
She was born on April 13, 1931 in Hartwell, to the late Glen Richardson and Lillie Gaines Richardson. Genie and her late husband were farmers, owned a convenience store for a number of years, and her passion was being foster mom to numerous children over the years. She was a member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church.
She is survived by her children, Sandra (Jimmy) Brown, Ray (Aleigha) Chappelear of Hartwell, and Connie (Tim) Roose of Anderson, S.C.; siblings: Dorothy Jo Temples, Mary Bryson, and Harold Richardson; grandchildren: Jeffery Brown, Jamie Moon, Ryan Brown, Jessica (Pepper) Sheriff, Jake Roose, Josh Roose, Aubrey Roose, Kristy Jackson, Kimberly, Dustin Chappelear, Reagan Chappelear, Nevaeh Chappelear and Genie Lynn Chappelear; and 23 great-grandchildren survive. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Stewart Chappelear; son, Chris Chappelear; and siblings: William Richardson, Helen Richardson, Broadus Richardson, Nancy Seymour, Betty Cartee and Ethel Milford. 
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, from Cedar Creek Baptist Church. Burial followed at Nancy Hart Memorial Park.
