High speed chase from Anderson ends in Hart crash, several injured

A woman was airlifted to be treated for serious injuries after a June 17 high speed chase out of Anderson County culminated in a four-vehicle crash outside of Ingles on E. Franklin Street. Around 4:30 p.m.

School Board approves 2025 budget

Following multiple presentations and two opportunities for feedback from the community, the Hart County Board of Education (BOE) voted to adopt the budget for fiscal year 2025 during its meeting June 17.

The evening of June 18 saw an unconventional meeting—a called meeting between the City of Hartwell and Hart County to discuss a mistake in service delivery maps that was recently realized.

Hartwell’s Letitia Scott, a nephrology nurse at DaVita Lake Hartwell Dialysis was honored with the DAISY Award for extraordinary nurses as a part of National Nurses Week. The award is part of the DAISY Foundation’s programs to recognize the superhuman efforts nurses perform every day.

Hartwell resident opens butcher shop in Toccoa

A new butcher shop and grocery store is opening this weekend in downtown Toccoa. The Farmer and the Butcher is set to host its grand opening at 176 N. Pond St. on Saturday morning just in time for Father’s Day.
