A former Hart County doctor was sentenced Jan. 7 to 25 years in prison without parole after being found guilty in December of six charges related to child molestation.

Corinna Crumpton, a Hart County High School teacher accused of two charges related to sexual correspondence with a student, was granted $20,000 bail by Hart County Superior Court Judge R. Chris Phelps on Friday, Jan. 7.

GSP: Man dead after chase, accident; driver charged with murder

A Hart County chase and accident on Dec. 26 led to the death of a Maysville, Ga. resident. According to a Georgia State Patrol crash report obtained by the Sun, Robert Fortner, 22, was ejected from the backseat of a 2009 Toyota Camry, which hit a tree during a chase.
