The Hart County AgriScience Center was packed with families and abuzz with “bahs” Saturday at the annual Hart County Schools’ Future Farmers of America Straight from the Hart EMC Goat Show.

Community rallies for victims of fire

Tragedy struck a Hart County teacher’s family over the weekend when their home was severely damaged by a fire. The home, located at 202 Christmas Tree Road, went up in flames around 5:24 p.m. on Sunday with no one inside, according to a Hart County Fire Department report.

Some Bowersville Town Council members said Thursday following nearly two hours of public comments that they would consider altering or removing speed bumps installed recently on East Main Street.

NGCU named business of the month

The Hart County Chamber of Commerce named North Georgia Credit Union the Chamber Business of the Month for August. North Georgia Credit Union says it works with its members to improve their financial well-being and help them afford life.

A massive fundraising event called the Weekend of Hart inches closer and closer, and the six local nonprofits involved keep forging ahead in making sure the jam-packed festivities go off without a hitch.  Set for Sept.

School board to change financial policy

The Hart County Board of Education unanimously voted to approve a policy update regarding financial reporting at a called meeting on July 29. “This is a recommended  update by our auditors,” Superintendent Jay Floyd said at the meeting.
