The Hart County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests:   The following is a list of names entered into the booking computer at Hart County Jail for Oct. 15-21, 2024. Names, ages and towns are listed as they appear in the computer. Offenses listed are charges; guilt has not been proven.

Follow your heart when voting

For the first time the local paper allowed a not impartial political letter after voting started. So here I am with a rebuttal. I won’t go after the points made by that letter writer.

More drilling ignores global warming

Drill, baby, drill …just doesn’t work. Petroleum is bought and sold in a global market, and the US has little control over its price. During the Trump presidency, the retail price of gas was about $2.43, yes lower than during the Biden presidency of about $3.24. Were Trump’s policies responsible?

My corn bread ain’t always done in the middle

For the past several years I have taken early morning walks along the paved path at a meandering park at a municipality not too far from here.  The park resides in and is owned and well maintained by that municipality. Based on a sign at its entrance the park’s hours of operation are from 5 a.m.
