The speed bumps on East Main Street in Bowersville are officially gone, an action met with cheers and applause from a crowd of spectators immediately following a called meeting by the Bowersville Town Council Tuesday night. Mayor Jim Jordan opened by saying there was a simple decision to make.

Tragedy struck a Hart County teacher’s family over the weekend when their home was severely damaged by a fire. The home, located at 202 Christmas Tree Road, went up in flames around 5:24 p.m. on Sunday with no one inside, according to a Hart County Fire Department report.
