The Hart County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests: March 22 •Elishia Marie Carnow, 56, of Dahlonega, was arrested and charged with criminal attempt, DUI, no insurance, open container in vehicle, possession and use of drug-related objects, possession of methamphetamines.

Big Dink went to his grave never knowing the names of two Georgia state patrolmen who came to his aid. That bothered me for more than 60 years. A pair of telephone calls—14 years apart—have solved the mysteries. One for certain. The other, most likely. Go back to Sept. 27, 1958.

Hartwell Makers Festival set for spring edition

The Hartwell Makers Festival (HMF) is coming back April 9, to showcase the best art and craftsmanship that Hart County and the surrounding region has to offer. The spring market will have over 40 different local makers exhibiting items ranging from food, furniture, art work and more.

Doula at Hart opens Hartwell office

Doula at Hart celebrated the opening of its physical location with a ribbon cutting on March 29. The agency for birth and postpartum support launched last year and moved into its space at 236 W. Franklin St. in Hartwell in January, 2022.
