Opinion: Planning to plant shrubs?

The typical gardener usually makes plans to plant shrubs and trees in March and April. Successful results have many gardeners convinced that spring is the best time of the year to plant those plants. However, you can plant most shrubs and trees in the fall in Georgia with excellent results.

Opinion: A Pinkie’s full heart watching ‘Baby School’ transition

My youngest granddaughter, Lucy, started pre-school recently. She calls it “Baby School.”    It’s the two-year-old “Ladybugs” class; diapers are still allowed. She has six classmates - all boys. I have no doubt our little Wendy (Peter Pan) will take good care of her Lost Boys.

Opinion: Let the morning madness commence

Is it just me, or are summers now moving at the speed of light? I swear I just blinked and we went from “Yay, no more school!” to “Wait, what do you mean it’s the first week of September?”   It could be because my kids are older now and their summer social calendars are irritatingly busy.
