Virginia Evans
 Virginia Brown Evans, age 89, of Bishop, formerly of Sterling Drive in Hartwell, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at High Shoals Health and Rehab.
She was born on October 3, 1931 in Hart County, to the late Preston Brown and Cecil Teasley Brown. Virginia was an honor graduate of Hartwell High School and retired from Belk as office manager with 25 years of dedicated service. She was a member of Bio Baptist Church and attended Cokesbury UMC where she taught a Sunday School Class. She was very active in missions, WMU, UMW and choir. Virginia was a dedicated mother, grandmother and friend to all that knew her. Her kindness and warm smile will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her son, Dan (Martha) Evans of Athens; grandsons, Daniel (Jennifer) Evans of Elgin, Okla. and Adam (Rebecca) Evans of Washington, DC; great-grandchildren, Isabella, Liliana, Gus and Grant. She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Henry Evans. 
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, August 19, from the chapel of Coile and Hall Funeral Directors with the Rev. Bobby Jones and Rev. Dan Fuller officiating. Burial will be at Bio Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will greet friends 1-2 at the funeral home on Thursday just prior to the service. The family will be at their respective homes.
