Tommy Evans
Tommy Dan Evans, 75, of Beacon Light Road, Hartwell, passed away Saturday, March 20, 2021 at St. Mary's Sacred Heart Hospital, Lavonia.
Born on November 29, 1945 in Elberton, he was the son of the late Howard Evans and Sue Newton Evans. Mr. Evans was retired from Tenneco with 42 years of service, and he was a member of the Oak Bower Baptist Church. He was also a U.S. Army veteran and served in the Army National Guard for 25 years.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Clark Evans of the home; two sons: Chris Evans (Mindy) of Orangeburg, S.C., and Brian Evans (Regina) of Hartwell; one daughter, Tonya Farmer (Red) of Hartwell; two brothers: Kim Evans (Tina) and Dunbar Evans, all of Hartwell; three sisters: Judy Alewine of Hartwell, Sylvia Motes (Travis) of Hartwell, and Martha Turman (Keith) of Elberton; eight grandchildren: Julie Bond (James) of Hartwell, Daniel Hickman (Robbie) of Hull, Porshie Evans of Orangeburg, Wanda Queen (Charlie) of Athens, Travis Evans (Katie) of Athens, Mackenzie Herrington of Orangeburg, Brodie Lack of Hartwell, Tara Bailey of Hartwell; and 14 great- grandchildren. Mr. Evans is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Susie Dove.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 23, at the Memorial Garden of Prayer with Mr. Fred Greenway officiating.
