Terrel Lee Vickery, 73, of Colbert, went home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ with family by his side on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital, Athens.
Born on November 9, 1947 in Anderson, S.C., he was the son of the late Ralph Julian Vickery and Daisy Brown Vickery. Mr. Vickery served in the United States Army and was a Vietnam Veteran with the 75th Ranger Regiment. He retired from the Georgia National Guard as a Staff Sergeant and Tenneco Automotive Equipment Company.  
He was a devout Christian who did the works of the Lord unseen to many. He was a member of Sardis Baptist Church, but attended Colbert Living Waters PHC.  He was a loving husband and an amazing father who loved his family, which included his dog Millie. He also loved fishing and tending to his chickens.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Carnes Vickery; four children: Gina Tolbert (Alan), Angie Rowland (Kevin), Chris Vickery (Amber), Leigh Ann Roberts (Ryan); 11 grandchildren: Maddie Tolbert, Justin Rowland, Luke Rowland, Leigha Rowland, Lance Rowland, , Jesse Adams, Abel Pilgrim, McKenna Roberts, Elijah Vickery, Scarlett Vickery, Lux Vickery; and one great-grandchild, Kalani Williams. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, May 27, at Sardis Baptist Church with Pastor Janice Loggins, Evangelist Kent Phillips and Mrs. Angie Rowland officiating. Burial will be in the Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery with full military honors.
