Mrs. Shelvy Hendrick Myers 79, of 130 Wisteria Cove Extension, Hartwell, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital.
Born on February 25, 1940 in Hartwell, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Paul Mitchell Hendrix and Avis McKern Hendrix. Mrs. Myers was a graduate of Forrest College in Anderson, S.C., and Shepherd University in Shepherdstown, W.Va. She was a former claims representative for the Office of Hearing and Appeals and on the Board of Final Court of Appeals within the Social Security Administration in Washington, DC. Mrs. Myers was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church where she was involved in the Nursing Home Sunday School Ministry, Celebrate Recovery, and numerous other ministries. She was also involved in Heart Ministries and served on the Board of the Regional DFACS.
Survivors include her husband, William H. "Bill" Myers; seven children: Sharron Teasley Giambanco (Vincenzo) of Warrenton, Va., Gretchen Myers Garlow (Dave) of Lynnfield, MA, Grant Teasley (Mickey) of Hartwell, Jami Myers Williamson (Scott) of Flower Mound, TX, Greg Teasley (Kristy) of Hartwell, William E. Myers (Gail) of Melbourne, FL, and Leinana Myers Two Moons (Anthony) of New City, NY; 16 grandchildren; and seven great- grandchildren. Mrs. Myers was preceded in death by one brother, Wayne Hendrix; and a great- grandchild, Logan Davenport.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, in the Cornerstone Baptist Church with the Rev. Terry Meeks and Rev. Greg Teasley.  Burial was in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.
