Richard C. Lawrence, 93, of Paynes Creek Road, Hartwell, passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at his home.
Born on April 10, 1926 in Dallastown, Pa., he was the son of the late Hellen Tarbert. Mr. Lawrence was a retired salesman for Montgomery Ward Department Store and a member of the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #945, and he was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his son, Ron Lawrence (Pat) of Hartwell; a daughter, Sandra Clark of Florida; son-in-law, Jack Codori of Tennessee; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren. Mr. Lawrence was preceded in death by his mother; his wife, Sondra Riddick Lawrence; and a daughter, Christinia Codori.
Because of the current conditions concerning the health and well-being of our community, the family will not be having formal services at this time. They ask that everyone keep them in their thoughts and prayers in the coming days and weeks. A memorial service for Richard will be planned at a later date when everyone can come together to share time with the family.
