Pamela Toney Gill, 63, went to be with her Lord, Friday evening, August 13, 2021, at the Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center, after a short illness.
Born November 4, 1957, she was the daughter of Patricia Cheek Dyer and the late Dwain A. Toney. She was a graduate of Franklin County High School, and Georgia College in Milledgeville. She was retired from the Department of Family and Children's Services and had worked in Hart, Franklin, and Banks Counties. She had worked the past eight years for the U.S. Postal Service. Her love of animals extended to the many she raised through the years, as well as neglected and abandoned animals. Survivors include her husband, Tommy Gill of Carnesville; mother, Patricia C. Dyer of Hartwell; sisters and brothers-in-law, Denise and Tim O'Neill of Greenville, and Lisa and Bill Brooks of Watkinsville; niece, Dillon O'Neill, and nephew, Graham Brooks; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 until 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 19, at the Ginn Funeral Home, Carnesville. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. The family requests that in lieu of flowers that memorials be made in her memory to the Northeast Georgia Animal Shelter, 870 Bear Creek Road, Lavonia, Georgia 30553.
