Olen devoted many years to missions and ministry in Salem, Ind. and Shoals, Ind., before moving to Hartwell in 2006. He was also involved with construction and truck driving for approximately 45 years. He was a minister and a member of the Mennonite Church.
Because of the current conditions concerning the health and well-being of our community, the family will not be having a formal visitation. There was a private family viewing at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 13. A graveside service was held at 11 a.m. at the Hartwell Mennonite Church Cemetery.
A memorial service celebrating Olen's life in Indiana will be announced at a later date when everyone can come together to share time with the family. His family asks that everyone keep them in their thoughts and prayers in the coming days and weeks ahead.
The family wishes to express their appreciation and gratitude to those who have given them help and support during this time. They wish to say "Thank You" to Amedisys Hospice for their compassionate care and tremendous help during his sickness.
