Michael DePeal

Michael James DePeal, III, 82, of Bethany-Bowersville Road, Canon, passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at his home.
Born on November 30, 1936 in Pinconning, MI, he was the son of the late Michael James DePeal II and Mary Williams DePeal. Mr. DePeal was a retired LPN having worked at Cobb Memorial Hospital and Elbert Memorial Hospital. Mr. DePeal was a member of the Hartwell First Presbyterian Church. He also volunteered for the Hart County Clothes Closet/Food Pantry.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years: Arleen Dolsen DePeal; children: Michael DePeal IV (Susan) of Orlando, FL, Lorinda Martin (Scott) of Canon, Anne Cox of Canon, Patrick DePeal (Gina) of Gadsden, AL; a foster daughter: Cindy Robinson (Pat) of San Tan Valley, AZ; one sister: Laurene Howell of Hartwell; eight grandchildren: Kathy Bischof, Joshua, Daniel and James Martin, Aaron and Kirsten Blomberg, Megan McCurley and Robert DePeal; step grandchildren: Dustin and Conan Kelly; foster grandchildren: Sarah Harlow, James and Sean Robinson, and Rebecca and 23 great-grandchildren. Mr. DePeal was preceded in death by his parents; one granddaughter: Jennifer DePeal; one brother: Boyd DePeal and one sister: Mary DePeal.
A celebration of Michael's life will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, November 30, at the home, 2345 Bethany Bowersville Road, Canon. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hart County Clothes Closet/Food Pantry, 175 Colfax Street, Hartwell, GA 30643.
