Maureen Henze DeLamater, 77, of Martin, passed away Saturday, April 11, 2020 at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital, Athens, Ga.
Born on May 17, 1942 in Rushford, Minn., she was the daughter of the late Earl Tilman Henze and Julia Swenside Henze. Mrs. DeLamater was the owner of the Lavonia Antique Market, a member of the Lavonia Chamber of Commerce, and of the Lutheran faith.
Survivors include her son, Paul Matthew DeLamater of Monroe, Ga.; her daughter, Jill DeLamater Mosley (Darriel) of Monroe; one brother, Robert Henze of Chicago, Ill.; two sisters: Sharyn Henze of Minneapolis, Minn. and Joyce Dorfner (Duane) of Coon Rapids, Minn.; three grandchildren: Richard Brock Mosley, Katelyn Mosely Chapman (Josh), and Shelby Jill Mosley; and two great-grandchildren: Weston and Kylie. Mrs. DeLamater was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George Clifford DeLamater, Jr.; and one brother, Jerry Henze.
Because of the current conditions concerning the health and well-being of our community, the family will not be having a formal visitation. They ask that everyone keep them in their thoughts and prayers in the coming days and weeks. Also anyone can leave their condolences and best wishes on Maureen's Tribute page.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 16, at Nancy Hart Memorial Park with Pastor David Brant officiating. Everyone will be asked to practice social distancing and may want to bring a lawn chair.
