James Bates, 89, of Canon, died Jan. 22, 2021. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Bowman. Pruitt Funeral Home in Royston is in charge of arrangements.
