Jack Edmunds Jr.
Jack B. Edmunds Jr., 87, of Hartwell, passed away Sunday, August 29, 2021 at St. Mary's Sacred Heart Hospital, Lavonia.
Born on July 18, 1934 in Decatur, he was the son of the late Jack B. Edmunds Sr. and Marian Houser Edmunds. Mr. Edmunds was a graduate of Presbyterian College in Clinton, S.C. He is also a graduate of the LSU School of Banking and the Emory Advanced Management School. He retired as President of Citizens and Southern National Bank (now Bank of America) after 35 years of service. 
Mr. Edmunds past involvements include Chairman of Ty Cobb Healthcare System, Inc., Chairman of Joint Development Authority of Franklin, Hart and Stephens Counties, Chairman of Hart County Industrial Building Authority, Chairman of Hart County Water Authority, Chairman of Athens Technical College Board, Director of Athens Technical College Foundation. His current involvements include, member of the Executive Committee of Hart County Archway Partnership (past Chairman), Chairman of Frances Wood Wilson Foundation, member and former President of the Hartwell Rotary Club and Board member/Director of Small Business Access Partners. 
He was a recipient of Legacy Award-Athens Technical College 2007, recipient of Hart County Chamber of Commerce Golden Shovel Award in 2000, Volunteer of the Year in 1999 of Georgia Economic Developers Association (from all economic developers in State of Georgia which number over 1100), recipient of 2010 Lifetime Achievement Award, Hart County Chamber of Commerce (first time this award was given).
Mr. Edmunds was past member of Committee on Episcopacy, North Georgia Conference United Methodist Church, Delegate at Large, Athens-Elbert District, North Georgia Conference and Chairman of Committee on Finance and Administration, North Georgia Conference.
He was an active member of the Hartwell First United Methodist Church, where he sang in the choir for over 50 years, taught Sunday School for 30 years, was Vice Chairman of the Building Committee and held many other offices in his church and was a United States Army Veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara W. Edmunds; two daughters: Cathy E. Redfern (Hunt) of Greer, S.C., Kimberley Bond (David) of LaGrange; one brother, Graham B. Edmunds (Karen) of Stone Mountain; three grandchildren: Eliott Bond (Ashley) of Atlanta, Kelly Vaughn (Matt) of Nashville, Tenn., and Leslie Larkin (Wesley) of Americus; two great-grandchildren: Jack Bond and Paul Larkin; several nieces and nephews also survive. 
Memorial services celebrating the life of Mr. Jack Edmunds will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, September 5, at the Hartwell First United Methodist Church with Dr. R. Allen Stewart officiating. A reception will follow the service.  The service will also be livestreamed on the Hartwell First United Methodist Church Facebook page.
