Edna Bartlett Brown, 99, of Brown Road, Bowersville, passed away Friday, November 15, 2019 at St. Mary's Sacred Heart Hospital, Lavonia.
Born on September 14, 1920 in Bowersville, Ga., she was the daughter of the late William Bartlett and Annie Adams Bartlett. Mrs. Brown was a graduate of Toccoa Falls College, former LPN for Cobb Memorial Hospital and homemaker. She was also a member of the Cross Roads Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Lorraine B. Puerta of Jefferson, Ga.; three grandchildren: Michael Ankerich (Charlie Snipes), Anna Cobb (Mark) and Jon Puerta; three great-grandchildren: Lauren, Dylan and Jake Cobb; son-in-law, Gene Ankerich; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Quenten Brown; one daughter, Carol B. Ankerich; 10 brothers: Milton Bartlett, Pete Bartlett; Dan Bartlett, Lloyd Bartlett, Robert Bartlett, Thomas Bartlett, Hugh Dorsey Bartlett, Harold "Buddy" Bartlett, George Bartlett, Billy Bartlett; and one sister, Jo Garner.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 19, in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with the Rev. Sean Payne and Mr. Fred Greenway officiating. Burial was in the Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery.
