Charles Harry Strickland, 93, of Shenandoah Drive NE, Calhoun, passed away Sunday, December 22, 2019 at Morning Pointe in Calhoun.
Born on September 2, 1926 in Hartwell, Ga., he was the son of the late Arnold R. Strickland and Mary Brown Strickland.  Mr. Strickland was the retired owner/operator of OTASCO of Hartwell and was a U.S. Army veteran. Mr. Strickland was a member of Crane Eater Community Church in Calhoun, Ga., and former member of the First Baptist Church of Hartwell and Doc Adams SS Class. He was also a member of the Nancy Hart Masonic Lodge #690 and the Yarrab Temple.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Howard Strickland of Calhoun; two sons: Harry Strickland of N. Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Rev. Howard Strickland (Jenny) of Calhoun; one daughter, Karen Brown (Steve) of Bradenton, Fla.; three grandchildren: Mark Brown, Nathaniel Strickland, Daniel Strickland; two great-grandchildren: Alex Brown and Alaura Brown; and one sister-in-law, Nell Strickland of Hartwell, Ga. Mr. Strickland was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Joe Strickland.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, December 24, in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Burial was in the Northview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Crane Eater Community Church, 3168 Red Bud Rd. NE, Calhoun, GA 30701, or the First Baptist Church of Hartwell, 81 E. Howell St., Hartwell, GA 30643.
