Bobby Wayne "Bob" Dyar, 69, of Reed Creek School Road, Hartwell, passed away Monday, February 17, 2020 at his home.
Born on July 20, 1950 in Hartwell, Ga., he was the son of the late Homer Elmer Dyar and Mildred Louise "Minnie" Greenway Dyar. Mr. Dyar was former food chain manager working for Quincy's, Ryan's, Fletchers, and Dairy Queen. He was of the Baptist faith and was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his daughter, Meredith D. Dickens (Donal) of Anderson, S.C.; three sisters: Patsy Clayton of Belton, S.C., Peggi Poore (Ray) of Belton, Salley Wells (David) of Mt. Airy, N.C.; and two grandchildren: Corbett and Madeline. Mr. Dyar was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Scotty Dyar, Ted Dyar, and Larry Dyar; and three sisters: Opal Boleman, Gloria Hanley, and Grace Buffington.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Other times the family will be at their respective homes.
A memorial service celebrating Bob's life will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.
