Arthur "Hoppy" Max Cantrell, 70, of Hartwell, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 23, 2020 at AnMed Health Medical Center.
He was born on June 17, 1950 in Hartwell, to the late Max Cantrell and Geneva Cobb Cantrell. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service and had served as Minister of Music at several area churches.
He is survived by his daughters, Jenny Whitfield of Hartwell and Mary Collins of Pampa, Texas; sister, Barbara Ray of Spartanburg, S.C.; grandchildren: Marley Whitfield, Abigail Collins and Eleanor Collins. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Brenda Owens.
Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 27, from the chapel of Coile and Hall Funeral Directors with the Rev. Terry Meeks and the Rev. Dale Carson officiating. Burial will be at the Nancy Hart Memorial Park. Their will be no formal visitation.
Coile and Hall Funeral Directors, 333 E. Johnson Street in Hartwell will be serving the family.
