Annie Ruth Stancil Phillips, 92, of Hartwell, passed away Saturday, Jan. 23, 2021 at Rainey Hospice House, Anderson, S.C.
Born on February 29, 1928, in Westminster, S.C., she was the daughter of the late C. Robert "Bob" Stancil and Vona Ivester Stancil. Mrs. Phillips was an inspector for the Hartwell Company, and a member of the Cross Roads Baptist Church.
Survivors include her two sons: Jimmy Phillips (Vicki) of Loganville and Jerry Phillips of Hartwell; four daughters: Linda Dickerson (Johnny) of Hartwell, Mary Ellen Parham of Hartwell, Kate Trammell (Steve) of Lavonia, and Patricia Bragg (Allen) of Lavonia; nine grandchildren: Scott Dickerson (Laura), Jason Bragg, Michael Parham, Brad Parham (Anna), Jennifer Ford (Darren), Danny Phillips (Allison), Sara Phillips, Angie McCall (Brad), Heather Bowers (Kyle); and 20 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Phillips is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward H. "Pete" Phillips; three brothers: Buddy Dacus, Otis Stancil, and Clinton Stancil; two sisters: Ruby Nell Epps and Willie Faye Carmen; and one great-grandchild, Mary Claire Parham.
Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, January 26, in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with the Rev. Phillip Burdette officiating. Burial was in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.
